It's The Law
It's The Law
Cards? For kids? Yes! This great routine is perfect for children 8 and older—and adults!
A law book seems to guide you step-by-step through a very funny process wherein a volunteer chooses a card (you never need to touch the deck) and, by law, you are unable to find it in increasingly funny ways.
In the end, every page of the book has the selected card. The prop is cleverly designed to hide the patter, which means you don't even have to memorize anything.
Cards? For kids? Yes! This great routine is perfect for children 8 and older—and adults!
You bring out a dusty old law volume (or, for close-up performances, a pocket U.S. Constitution). "Sorry, but by law I'm required to perform a card trick for you at this point in the show."
The book seems to guide you step-by-step through a very funny process wherein a volunteer chooses a card (you never need to touch the deck) and, by law, you are unable to find it in increasingly funny ways.
Finally, you reveal that the reason the trick isn't working is because there isn't really such a law—you made the whole thing up. In fact, you're not even holding a real book, because every page... and here you flip through the book, showing the audience that instead of words every page has a picture of the selected card!
The prop is cleverly designed to hide the patter, which means you don't have to memorize anything. As always, there are zero tricky moves to learn. Start performing immediately!
